Construction Sealants, Construction Sealants, General Adhesives and Sealants, Mirror Fixing, Mirror Adhesives

Multi-purpose construction adhesive suitable for bonding a wide range of products in the building industry.

Features

  • Designed for bonding most common building materials
  • Perfect for bonding steel, aluminium and other materials to hardboard, plasterboard, plywood, particleboard, cement sheet, timber or concrete
  • Excellent gunnability, even at low temperature
  • Excellent non-slump behaviour during application
  • The cured adhesive is very tough and flexible
  • Very good wet grab (good wet body, or initial grip)
  • Very good adhesion to a wide range of substrates

Applications

  • Suitable for installing mirrors (major mirror brands have been tested by Bostik)
  • At least one substrate surface should be permeable material such as wood, cement or plasterboard. This allows the adhesive to reach full cure by solvent release over several days. If both substrates are impermeable materials such a metal, full bond strength development may be quite slow.

Installation Instructions

  • For installing mirrors on vertical walls Glasscorp recommends 24mm wide mirror tape and a tape and glue thickness of between 1.6 and 3mm. As a guide use 5 strips of double sided tape vertically per 1.0m
  • Mirror tape should be applied in vertical lines as tape applied horizontally will gather moisture and not allow circulation of air. This may lead to corrosion of the mirror backing
  • Mirror adhesive (glue) contact area should be greater than 0.2m per 1.0m

Notes

  • Not recommended for mirrors installed on ceilings
  • Not recommended for vinyl-backed mirrors
  • For more information on compatibility with other products and specialist advice, please contact Glasscorp directly
  • Customers should independently determine the suitability of this product for their specific purpose prior to use
