Glasscorp Webinar Training Series: Sealant Technology and Application

In this webinar we covered a basic overview of different sealant chemistry types, including their chemical and physical properties. We discussed the considerations to be made when selecting a sealant for a particular application, and covered some of the product solutions offered by Glasscorp.

Attendees learnt the fundamentals of structural glazing, surface preparation, quality control, and project management.
This session introduced common structural glazing systems and the basic principles of structural joint design. Subjects covered: surface preparation, sealant application, quality control and basic project management requirements.

In partnership with Dow we have released a new work section: 4811DS Dow Sealants
This provides a structured, easy to follow template for the specification of all Dowsil silicones, sealants, and associated products for projects. Work Section Support is available within the Masterspec platform.
Masterspec is the leading specification system in New Zealand’s construction industry used by over 1,600 design practices. Masterspec provides detailed specification resources that can be easily modified to suit any project using their intuitive online platform.

Glass and Glazing Institute Smartlift Training
Proudly supporting our future glaziers Glasscorp recently supplied a Smartlift 380 Outdoor High Lifter (code GM082) to the Glass and Glazing Institute (GGI). Glasscorp Account Manager Oliver Jordan trained the GGI instructors on its operation.
Glasscorp recognises the importance of improved health and safety practices in the industry. New Technical Manager
We have added a new face to the Glasscorp team. We welcome Scott Oakley, Glasscorp's Technical & Compliance Manager at Glasscorp Ltd. A newly created role which will encompass technical support, product training and testing, as well as areas of compliance relating to product certification and documentation. Starting work for Glasscorp in November 2019, Scott has hit the ground running, coming to us with several years of sales and engineering experience from a variety of different industries.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Auckland. Scott brings to the role a passion for problem solving and learning new skills, and a commitment to delivering results. In his downtime he enjoys catching up with friends, quiz nights, escape rooms, training at the gym and the odd bit of DIY.

The Glasscorp team, with their families, participated at the Round the Bays event last weekend in Auckland. They joined thousands of runners and walkers running from Auckland's CBD to St Heliers Bay. Technology Update for Wood's Powr-Grip products
The latest version 7.0 enables Intelli-Grip to connect wirelessly with a monitoring app. It is currently in the late stages of development for Wood's Powr Grip Suction and Inline products. The app will be available soon for Android devices on Google Play Store. An app for iOS devices is planned but not yet in development.
How else does 7.0 differ from earlier versions?
Three additional languages — Czech, Dutch and Italian — are supported by 7.0. Other languages supported by Intelli-Grip includes Danish, English, French, German, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish languages.

Which products have Intelli-Grip®?
All models with DC3 as part of their model number. Depending on the date of manufacture, the lifter will be equipped with either the original version of Intelli-Grip software (5.2) or an updated version (6.0 or 6.4). Models equipped with version 7.0 started shipping in mid 2019.
What is Intelli-Grip®?
Our vacuum lifter technology maximizes productivity, reduces human error, simplifies maintenance and repairs, and protects workers from harm. Intelli-Grip achieves this by monitoring the power system and dual vacuum system in real time, performing diagnostics automatically, displaying that information on the LCD screen of the lifter’s Control Unit and, when necessary, signalling an operator via strobe light and notification buzzer.

Hamilton Windscreens, Winners of V8 Supersprints Promotion
Nick and Markus from Hamilton Windscreens, Winners of the Supersprint V8 Promotion, had a fantastic filled weekend of V8 Supersprints at Pukekohe Raceway. With corporate hospitality at a corporate tent with spectacular views of the pit, Nick enjoyed the fact he could be so close to the drivers and cars on the grid. "It was very well organised with great catering and people to enjoy the company," explains Nick. Nick had the opportunity to get up close to Fabian Coulthard one of the NZ drivers.
Marcus and Nick would like to thank Bostik and Glasscorp for such an awesome time at the V8 and they cannot wait for the next opportunity to win a competition like this.
